Falconry and Conservation in Michigan
The Michigan Hawking club is involved in several conservation projects and several of our members are active Raptor Rehabilitators. Raptors are a passion for every member of the MHC, their well being, whether they are in our mews or in the wild is our greatest desire.
We are working together with the Audubon Society to make Kestral boxes to provide shelter for wild kestrals across the state. If you would like to build a kestral box click here
The MHC HAWKING CLUB has also participated in and funded research projects at various Universities focused on populations and changing habitats of raptors.
Our members also enjoy working at public events like Southeastern Michigan Raptor Research annual hawk migration count at the Lake Erie Metro Park.
We also Participate in the Crane Fest at the Baker SanctaryBaker Sanctary near Bellevue Michigan.
The club members enjoy the co-operation of the Michigan DNR and work with them on the Peregrine project and any opportunity to educate the public on these magnificent birds.
